trifocal consultation

Trifocal consultation

Start your journey glasses free!

A trifocal lens consultation couldn’t be easier. Our friendly team will guide you through a set of eye assessments lasting around one hour. Once complete, your specialist will advise you on the most suitable trifocal lens model and power for your eyes. During these assessments we’ll dilate your pupils to capture detailed scans of the cornea and retina.

Before your appointment, please avoid wearing contact lenses for two weeks (soft lenses; some rigid lenses may require longer, if so, we’ll let you know) so your eyes are ready for accurate measurements. None of the tests are invasive or uncomfortable, and our ophthalmic technician will be with you throughout. The dilating drops can blur vision and increase light sensitivity, so please arrange for a friend or family member to help you get home safely.

Macular Hole treatment

Trifocal treatment

We the best technology to bring you perfect vision

Please arrive without eye make-up and don’t use eye drops unless we’ve advised otherwise. On arrival at My-iClinic (North London), our nurse will check you in, explain what to expect, and answer any questions. We’ll place numbing drops on the eye and gently dilate the pupil so you’re comfortable throughout.

Your surgeon will talk you through each step. A tiny, self-sealing opening is made at the edge of the cornea, the natural lens (in refractive lens exchange/cataract cases) is removed, and a trifocal intraocular lens is folded, inserted, and positioned securely. Afterward, our nurse will run through aftercare, show you how to use your drops, and confirm your follow-up. You’ll be with us for about 2 hours in total; the procedure itself is typically 10–20 minutes per eye, and most patients go home the same day.

Trifocal lens aftercare

Recovery after trifocal lens implantation usually takes about one week. During this time, keep activity light, use your prescribed drops as directed, and then attend your aftercare appointment with your specialist.

Our team is on hand throughout that first week to answer questions and help you feel comfortable and confident as you heal.

After your follow-up, most patients return to normal routines and start enjoying clearer near, intermediate, and distance vision with far less dependence on glasses or disposable contacts.

Save With My-iClinic

Trifocal lens implants can be more cost-effective than a lifetime of glasses and contact lenses. Rather than spending hundreds every year on new frames, lenses, solutions, and eye tests, you make a one-time investment of around £3,750 per eye and benefit from lasting clarity.

Our trifocal lenses are crafted from premium, biocompatible acrylic designed to naturally harmonise with your eye’s tissues. The material offers inherent UV filtering, and its soft, flexible profile supports a smooth, comfortable implantation.

Dry eyes

No More Dry Eyes

Trifocal lens surgery replaces the eye’s natural lens with an advanced implant that restores clear near, intermediate, and distance vision. By addressing the root cause of focusing issues, it offers lasting clarity, reduces dependence on glasses, and helps prevent future cataract development.

Removability

A trifocal lens implant is designed to remain in the eye permanently, delivering long-term clarity across all distances. Once in place, it does not require maintenance and continues working for life. With My-iClinic’s advanced surgery, you can enjoy freedom from glasses and contact lenses.

Our Most Important Benefits For Trifocal Surgery

Thinking about trifocal lenses? It’s natural to have questions about how they can change your life. From seamless vision at all distances to long-term clarity and freedom from glasses or contacts, here are the key benefits and facts that explain why so many people are choosing trifocal intraocular lenses for their future vision.

Trifocal intraocular lenses are advanced implants designed to restore near, intermediate, and distance vision in one lens. They replace your natural lens and allow your eyes to focus smoothly at multiple distances, reducing or eliminating the need for glasses.

This treatment is ideal for patients over 40 who struggle with reading glasses, bifocals, or varifocals, and for those with cataracts. Suitability depends on your eye health, prescription, and lifestyle goals, your specialist will confirm this at your consultation.

The procedure itself takes 10–20 minutes per eye, though you’ll spend around 2 hours at the clinic on the day. Most patients return home the same day and resume normal routines within a week.

Most patients no longer need glasses for daily life. You’ll be able to read, use screens, and drive without correction. In some cases, thin reading glasses may still be needed for very fine print under low light.

Yes! trifocal lenses are made from biocompatible, medical-grade acrylic designed to integrate naturally with the eye. The procedure is routinely performed worldwide and carries a strong safety record when carried out by experienced surgeons.

At My-iClinic, treatment is typically from £3,000 per eye. While it’s a one-time investment, it often works out cheaper than decades of glasses, contacts, and check-ups, while giving you greater independence and visual freedom.
